About the event

ECAR at Clemson pleased to announce art and storytelling events with Narratio on April 11 and 12. The Narratio program supports the creative expression of displaced young people through fellowships, workshops, publishing, and collaborations with partners in the arts, education, and media.

Narratio: Art and Stories by Resettled Refugee Youth

Date: Thursday, April 11

Time: 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm (Pre-event reception at 4:30 pm)

Location: Humanities Hall Auditorium

Description: Our main event, open to the public, is a presentation by Narratio’s flagship program, the Narratio Fellowship, is an annual storytelling and leadership program aimed at providing refugee and immigrant youth with the tools and resources to share their narratives and creative works on the world stage. Guests will experience photography, film and poetry created by Narratio Fellows and will learn more about the program from fellowship co-founders, Ahmed Badr and Brice Nordquist. Lunch Conversation on Publicly Engaged Arts and Humanities

Date: Friday, April 12

Time: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Location: Brown Room, Robert M. Cooper Library

Description: Ahmed Badr and Brice Nordquist will discuss experiences in strengthening publicly engaged arts and humanities at their institutions. Storytelling Workshop

Date: Friday, April 12

Time: 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Location: Room 208, Watt Family Innovation Center

Description: Dive into the art of storytelling and community building at our interactive workshop. Led by Narratio, this session will explore the Narratio method of object-based storytelling, developed in collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Open to all ages.
